By nourishing the ground, we are able to grow a varied selection of native wildflowers, perennials, spring bulbs, and annual pollinator friendly cut flowers for our customers, while also helping to the preserve and protect native flora and fauna. In creating bouquets and arrangements, our aim is to awaken senses and create a setting of joy for your kitchen table, a wedding reception or special event. At Concession Road Garden (CRG), located in Haldimand County Ontario, we grow a variety of annual and perennial cut flowers with a focus on varieties that are native and pollinator friendly. We also grow a selection of heirloom vegetables and manage a modest Quince orchard. Our produce and flowers are sold at our on-farm roadside stand, and at Flower and Farmer’s Markets in the region. At Concession Road Garden, we use a no-till or no-dig method of growing vegetables and flowers, which essentially means that we never disturb the goodness in the ground or activate the weeds. We feed the soil with natural inputs, including our own compost and don't use any fertilizers or pesticides. Our in-season bouquets and floral arrangements are created without plastics or floral foam. Concession Road Garden is Certified Naturally Grown - Our flowers, fruit and produce are never sprayed with synthetic chemicals and are always fresh and in-season. Concession Road Garden is a member of The Regenerative Flower Farmer's Network, an online forum of flower farmers with a foremost interest in treating their farms as whole ecosystems, rather than simply a production-focused enterprise. We are eager to better understand soil biology, habitat building, farmer well-being, and farm resiliency in the face of surmounting challenges. Through this network, our voices will be amplified to create bigger ripples of change in agriculture. RFFN is headed up by Jennie Love of Love and Fresh Flowers and the No-till Flowers Podcast Concession Road Garden is a member of The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers and, Slow Flowers - an organization that endeavours to "inspire the floral industry and its consumers to embrace local, seasonal, and sustainable flowers." |
